DR O'BRIEN WILL BE MOVING TO OUR DENMAN FACILITY IN APRIL.

Dr O’Brien grew up in Canberra and is a graduate of the ANU Medical School.

She is very friendly and loves children, and holds a Diploma in Child Health (Sydney Children’s Hospital Network/University of Sydney). She has interests in paediatrics, women’s health, and preventive health. She chose General Practice because she wanted the opportunity of establishing long lasting relationships with patients to provide excellent continuity of care.

Dr O’Brien says she enjoys working at YourGP because of the commitment to quality care and the supportive team environment from the other doctors, to the nursing and administrative staff.

Outside of work she likes bushwalks, travelling, reading, music, and her burgeoning vegetable garden.

Dr Somyata Jhorar

Somyata is a GP registrar. Somya enjoys all areas of general practice however has a special interest in women’s health, adolescent health and disease prevention.  She places importance on open communication and patient centered care. Somya completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland and holds a Diploma in Women’s health. She has been working in regional and metropolitan areas of Queensland. Having recently moved to Canberra to be closer to her husband and continue her general practice training, she is looking forward to exploring the local region.

Dr James Manley is a Canberra local and graduate of the ANU. His interests include pain management, paediatrics and chronic disease management. He says he enjoys seeing those who are elderly.

Dr Manley is passionate about ensuring patients have continuity of care across the lifespan, enjoys seeing family units, and is actively welcoming new patients. He is dedicated to providing holistic care.

Outside of the practice, Dr Manley plays guitar, follows the English Premier League, and spends quality time with his family.

Dr. Stephen Martin loves helping people of all ages with their health. He has a special interest in men's, paediatric and adolescent health and is committed to compassionate healthcare, where patients are listened to and respected.

Originally from New Zealand, he trained as a doctor here in Canberra, graduating in 2013 and has also completed a Diploma in Child Health. He has a passion for medical education and enjoys teaching medical students and registrars.

Steve, his wife and three children love living in Canberra and all it has to offer. He enjoys running, cycling, and practicing Aikido. To unwind he dabbles in music and photography.

Kati holds a Diploma in Child Health, has completed further studies in reproductive and sexual health, mental health, eating disorders and medical management of obesity.

She has special interests in adult and adolescent medicine, mental health and weight management. She places importance on compassion, holistic care and early intervention.

Kati is a keen communicator, loves facilitating positive change and enjoys exploring the Canberra surrounds with her young daughters and husband.

Kati is a graduate of St George's University, London (MBBS), University of Cardiff (Bsc Genetics), Fellow of the Royal Australian college of General Practitioners.

Maria enjoys all aspects of general practice but has a particular interest in paediatrics and adolescent health, women’s health and preventive health care.

Maria is a born and raised Canberran, although it was at the University of Melbourne that she obtained her Doctor of Medicine.

She returned to Canberra to complete her training, specifically in General Practice due to her passion for quality care and patient advocacy.

Outside of medicine, she is married with young daughters. She enjoys collecting cookbooks, hanging out with the family and watching the latest series on Netflix.

Anna completed Medicine at the University of Tasmania. Since then she has practiced predominately in Canberra but also in rural, remote and overseas places. She has had further training and experience in public health, infectious diseases and travel medicine, including obtaining a Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and Fellowship with the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine. Anna has worked for the Commonwealth Government in relation to immunisation, outbreaks, disaster planning and veteran’s health and was a member of the ACT Health COVID Response Team. She has interests in lifestyle medicine, infectious diseases and travel health.

Outside of work Anna enjoys hikes and rides with family and friends, reading, growing vegetables and creating cakes when there is a special event.

Mel loves being a GP and a practice owner. Along with her husband John, she is passionate about developing YourGP to better fulfill the vision of ‘genuine care, clinical excellence’. She feels privileged to work alongside such an amazing team of doctors, nurses and administrative staff.

She enjoys walking in Canberra, especially where there are views of the beautiful Brindabella mountain ranges.
