We provide the full range of general practice services.

Children’s health

Paediatrics is a special interest of the practice. We have dedicated a kid’s play waiting area to make your visit more enjoyable. Kids love to visit us. Our GPs and nurses all enjoy seeing children.

Childhood immunisations

We are supportive of childhood vaccinations. They are safe and an effective way to protect your child. Immunisation records are uploaded electronically to the immunisation register.

Chronic disease management

Including diabetes, arthritis, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune conditions, respiratory conditions, etc

Driver’s medicals

Commercial driving medical assessments require a double length appointment. For non-commercial licences for chronic medical conditions book a standard appointment.

Men’s health

Check-ups, erectile dysfunction, incontinence, vasectomy, mental health and STD screens.

Mental health

Depression, anxiety, postnatal depression, schizophrenia, grief, bipolar depression and PTSD.

A mental health care plan (referral to a psychologist) requires a double appointment.

Minor procedures

Implanon insertion and removal, skin cancers removal, ingrown toenail repair, vasectomy (not all procedures are done by all doctors, please call the surgery to find the doctor best suited to help you).

IUD (copper or mirena) insertion is available through Dr Heike Kath at YourGP@Lyneham.

Mirena IUD insertion

Dr Heike Kath at YourGP@Lyneham. This involves a visit to discuss IUD suitability and then a separate appointment for insertion at Lyneham.

Musculoskeletal

Injuries, fractures and arthritis.

Tongue and Lip Tie assessment and treatment

Dr John Deery only. Tongue tie is a common condition of newborn children. It will sometimes cause newborns to have a lot of difficulty with breastfeeding. We can provide prompt assessment and treatment of the condition, on the same day, when appropriate.

Lip tie concerns are common and will rarely need surgical correction. If concerned please book for assessment.

Skin checks

Please do not wear make-up.

Vasectomy

Initial consult with Dr John Deery at Denman, Crace or Lyneham. The procedure is performed at Crace on Friday mornings. See Canberra Vasectomy for more information.

Women’s health

Check-ups, pap smears, STD screens, breast check, contraceptive advice, implanon insertion and removal, IUD insertion (Dr Heike Kath at Lyneham only), menopause, pregnancy planning, shared antenatal care and postnatal check-ups.

Workers compensation

All Workers Compensation/Third Party cases are required to pay at the time of consultation.

Allied Health

Nursing

Immunisations, ear syringe, wound management, health assessments, ECG, iron infusions, diabetes clinics, health assessments and chronic disease care plans. Bookings are not available online, please call to book.

Pharmacist

Katja Norton Boom, for advice about medications. Bookings only available by calling reception.

Optometrist

Damien Lonergan is at Crace two days per week. His particular interests include: myopia control including orthokeratology, contact lenses, paediatric optometry, diabetic eye examinations, management of dry eye, and management of other ocular diseases.
